You might not have thought of these two as friends, but they bonded over an unusual proposition. Two of the most talked about men of the 1970s actually met and discussed the state of our nation. Elvis Presley offered his help to President Nixon in 1971 during an impromptu meeting at the White House. The King wanted to help the POTUS with the “drug culture” and other “problems” in the U.S. The offer on the table included personal appearances by The King in support of law enforcement officials.
