Hold on to Your Hat…This Swing Dance From The ’40s Will Blow you Away!

Sometimes the classics are just better than everything else, even when it comes to dance moves! So when this particular dance started hitting dance halls, it helped to begin a massive craze for the people of the era.

Have you ever heard of the Lindy Hop?

If not, you’re in for quite the treat! This dance that originated from Harlem in the 1920s became very popular during the Swing era of the late 30’s and early 40’s; and we can find no better example of it than this scene from the 1941 movie, “Hellzapoppin.”

Just look at the passion, the skill, and the excitement in these routines…it’s magnificent!

“Hellzapoppin,” came out in 1941, and stars Ole Olsen, Chic Johnson, and Shemp Howard. The film was actually adapted from a musical of the same name.
