Out Of All The Great Songs By The Lennon Sisters, This Might Be My Favorite!

When it comes to vintage television shows, one of our favorites was The Lawrence Welk Show.

When it comes to vintage television shows, one of our favorites was The Lawrence Welk Show. The whole family used to gather around the television and tune in to see the monologues and the musical numbers. And of course, you can’t talk about Lawrence Welk without mentioning The Lennon Sisters!  In the following clip from The Lawrence Welk Show, the Lennon Sisters pay homage to The Andrews Sisters‘ 1937 hit, “Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen,” (“To Me You’re Beautiful,”). Although this wasn’t an original Andrews Sisters song — it actually dates back to a 1932 Yiddish comedic musical, “I Would If I Could,“— it was their first hit single that eventually ended up earning them a gold record. So take a stroll down memory lane and give it a listen…we enjoyed it so much we played it twice!
