3) Handkerchief as a Doll

A simpler doll you’ll never find, but it was a good way to occupy the time making new dollies from handkerchiefs or napkins. All you need is something to stuff the head and some string. You can even make these with fabric scraps!

2) Cardboard Boxes

Used as fort or as car or flattened and uses as a makeshift sled, cardboard boxes were one of the best playthings we had as kids! We would play with a really good box until the sides were coming off!

1) Watering Can or Garden Hose

Watering, sprinkling, tormenting siblings, or just drinking were all fun past times with a watering can or garden hose. It was one of the best times when one of your parents let you go outside and turn the hose on!

We would very often play with whatever was handed to us, but these old favorites were so often a part of those lifelong memories- just playing with the simplest toys and being kids!
