Performing the song “Rebel Rouser” (a top ten hit in 1958) on The Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show (later known only as American Bandstand), Duane Eddy and his band get the audience very riled up indeed. Perhaps this is because the song was an anthem for kids who identified with James Dean and the rebellious ideas that Rock and Roll made popular. Or it could be the girls swooning over the band were making all that noise. Or maybe the fact that the band was on a moving forklift is what got the audience so hyped up!

In what would surely break safety regulations set in stone by most studios today, the band is seen performing on a forklift that has them high in the air! Have a look at this wacky set up and hear a wonderful 1950s classic tune in the video below.
