We love items like for so many reasons. It was handed down to the current owner from his grandfather, it’s packed full of history, and on top of all that it’s extremely valuable!

In 1857, the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP) became the first organization to govern baseball. The first champion was a team called the Brooklyn Atlantics. In the following clip from Antiques Roadshow, a baseball from a 1859 Brooklyn Atlantics game is brought on for appraisal. As sports memorabilia expert Jasmani Francis says, “if baseball has roots, here it is.” We love items like for so many reasons.
