This 1964 Catalog from the Now-defunct Bellas Hess Company Is Like a Wonderful Time Capsule
The clothes and furniture are so classy!
The company started out as the National Cloak & Suit Co., but later changed its name the Bellas Hess. Like the catalogs of Macy’s, Sears, and Montgomery Ward, the Bellas Hess catalogs offered a dazzling array of homegoods, clothing, and accessories all at your fingertips. And they were one of the first catalog companies to offer color illustrations in their mailings- well before color photography was common. Have a look back with us at some of the most fashionable clothing from their 1964 catalog.
