Then Versus Now- 15 Slang Terms That Have Really Changed!

It’s fascinating how much our lingo has changed over the years!

10) Choice vs. On Fleek

While choice often meant specifically that a woman was attractive, on fleek can mean that and more. Originally a misheard word in a Vine video referring to eyebrows being done correctly, fleek can describe all manner of ideal objects and looks. If a girl is on fleek she is dressed and groomed in an exceptional manner.

9) Primo vs. Next Level

Primo means the best of the best- premium- and next level is similar, but implies that there are levels to everything, kind of like the levels of a video game.

8) Ticked Off vs. Salty

You could say cheesed off, too, but any way you slice it these terms all mean to be personally offended and annoyed.

7) Phoney Baloney vs. Catfish

If some one is exposed as a catfish then they are not who they say they are. This term is often used specifically in relation to online dating, when someone is revealed after a time to not be the person in their dating profile. Remember the days when nearly all of the dating process was done face-to-face?

6) Jet vs. Skurt

If you jet or motor then you’re leaving and the slang for that these days is skurt.
