The PEZ comapny started out in the ’20s selling sophisticated mints in sleek metal dispensers for adults as stop smoking aids. It wasn’t until they were marketed to children with brightly colored plastic dispensers in the ’50s that the company became the worldwide phenomenon we know and love.
